You might say that at one time I was a certifications junkie. The breadth and depth of topics covered in modern IT is huge, and a dozen different technologies and specializations may be necessary for any given IT project. I found early on that to quantify one's experience into a basic resume is a difficult proposition. The best way to quantify all of this knowledge, it seemed to me, was through certifications. The end result is that at one point I held well over 200 business and technology certifications.
While my current career focus is more business oriented, I do keep up with my technical skills. I find that my technical skills are invaluable in helping business to work with their technical resources to come up with the right solution. While I no longer maintain every certification, I still hold well over a hundred, including more than twenty job certifications, with a number of my scores ranging in the top scores in the country.
Some of the certifications I hold include Comptia's Network+ and I-net+. The bulk of my certifications are through Brainbench. My complete, current transcript of certifications can be found here.
In addition to my prodigious test taking, I have also contributed to the other side of the certification industry. I was on the Subject Matter Expert panel that determined subject matter, developed and approved questions for Comptia's e-biz+ exam. I also served as a test developer and approver for Brainbench's Internet Explorer 6 Administration exam, and have participated as a beta tester for numerous exams over time.
