Stacey's Latest Position

National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) (2006-present)

I have had a lot of hats at NASBA.  I came in as a Pre-Sales Engineer (that lasted days), been a Technical Project Manager, Product Manager, Systems Analyst, and since 2007 I have been Director of Software Development.  As Director, I've led a lot of change.  Some of the things we have done so far include:

  • Committing to conversion to a completely Open Source web development shop
  • Implement SOA (Services Oriented Architecture)
  • Implement Code Review and a host of standards for web development
  • Adopt Agile Development practices (SCRUM, to be specific)
  • Implemented an OWASP training program
  • Too many more things to count

In other words, we stay busy.

In the course of performing these duties I work on a daily basis internally with executive management, as well as with numerous major clients such as individual State Boards of Accountancy, Regulatory boards from other professional practices, and Big Four and major regional accounting firms.
