I love online communications technology. For one, it's free, and for another, it's useful according to how I live my life- if I am at my computer, that usually means that I am available to communicate with others. If for some reason I do not want to, I can set a status (or simply not log on). My phone does not do this. It is blissfully unaware of, for example, when I am in the shower and have shampoo in my eyes. It has voicemail, true, but the fact that I hear the ring has me conditioned to try to get it anyway- or else to wonder who it was and hurry through my tasks until I can get to my voicemail. In addition, the elderly and technologically challenged in my family, for example, every generation before me, still does not understand that no matter how much they yell into my cell phone's voicemail, I cannot hear them and will not come pick up the phone. Such is life.
At any rate, the links to the left are my most preferred methods of contact: email, AIM, and Skype- although I have not yet gotten in the habit of keeping a headset with my laptop at all times, so you might not always get me there. I do have other methods of communications- other instant messengers, accounts on various social networking sites, etc. I will eventually put them all here. If you prefer to use some method, or love some method that you want to recommend, that you do not see me using here, please let me know and I'll add support for it here and get the client if necessary.
